Originally, this post was going to highlighting Smilebox and its ability to create scrapbooks, ecards, slideshows, and more which could be great in a number of ways for the classroom. Then, this morning I learned about the woman in Japan who, well, is now in jail for a cyber crime and decided it was an odd story and wanted to pass it on. I guess it is another reason not to share one’s passwords??

Happy Friday!

Warning – a low-tech, non-classroom related post follows…

So after an hour or so of setting up a blog for a friend/colleague at the local Barnes & Noble, our friends Matt & Amy, Tim and I enjoyed a great 30 minutes of stories and comments by Vince Flynn. I can’t wait to go very low-tech, sit wrapped up in a quilt and read his newest, Extreme Measures. Perhaps by Thanksgiving break?  If you like political thrillers and haven’t checked out Vince Flynn, checking out either Term Limits or Transfer of Power would be a great place to start.

On my quest to catch up on my RSS feeds, (and Bloglines recent disruption of supporting feeds wasn’t too helpful though it is looking better at the moment) I read this post from TechLearning, and discovered ClassTools.net. I made a quick game about the Constitution in about 3 minutes and it was super!  Hmmm, I see games in my students’ future. Perhaps they will make some games in our upcoming unit and post them to their blogs?!?  I think that sounds like a good little new adventure.

So many things one can learn while passing the 3.5 hours between the end of school responsibilities and open house this evening…
