Our staff doesn’t have school today – we had some meetings in the morning and everyone pretty much cleared out. Tonight is homecoming, big game and dance.  I am going to spend some time reading the rss feeds that are waiting for me (and have been for a while). It will take me a while, as I am really not sure how many posts await me, but I think my “Five” is going to be the five posts I find the most interesting, helpful or fun. More to come on this soon.

I don’t’ think it is going to be a theme but I have another cool text site to add to the bookmarks.  cooltext.com makes a great quick logo for anything, could also make spiffy text for wikis, blogs and websites. Easy and quick to use, I hope you enjoy it.

I admit, I am a font junkie. If you’re looking for some fun fonts, check out this Font Image Generator. How much fun is that?!?!

National Family Day, tomorrow September 21, 2008

Apparently tomorrow is National Family Day. George Stephanopoulos just said it is a day to be sure to have diner as a family and know that it matters. How true. At Back to School night, some parents seemed a little nervous when I said I could tell who talked about politics and current events at the dinner table. It wasn’t said to be a negative thing, rather a compliment. Those students have a better grasp of what is happening in the world and have a stronger framework on which they can hang what they learn. Growing up, my family always had dinner together. I learned a lot at the dinner table.

So go low tech tomorrow night, cook that roast (or whatever you like :) , and have a nice dinner together. I hope you have a great conversation, enjoy each other, and either continue a tradition or maybe start a new one.
